1. Connect the internet and run updates
- Plug in the network cable or connect to Wi-Fi.
- Go to Settings → Windows Update → Check for updates, install everything, and restart if asked.
- Also check Advanced options → Optional updates for drivers. A clean install often lacks graphics and chipset drivers.
2. Connect the NAS and copy the instructions to the PC
In PowerShell, run:
net use Z: \\NAS_NAME\share /user:NAS_USER /persistent:yes
robocopy "Z:\path\to\setup" C:\Setup /E
Replace NAS_NAME, share, NAS_USER and the path with your own. Copying the instructions to the local disk is safer than running the agent directly from the NAS.
3. Install Git and Claude Code
Open PowerShell as Administrator (right-click Start → Terminal (Admin)), then run:
winget install --id Git.Git -e

Close the window and open it again so it picks up the new PATH.
If winget doesn't work: on a fresh install it sometimes takes a few minutes to become available. Open the Microsoft Store, let it update, and try again. Or download Git manually from git-scm.com.
4. Start the agent
